The Dangers of Consistency as a Creator ✅

Hey Reader!

I'm sorry I didn't make a podcast this past week.

Let me tell you why...

I decided to focus on making a YouTube video for my main YouTube channel instead (the channel just turned 2 years old yesterday).

I've been very consistent with my weekly podcast, but have neglected my YouTube channel. Speaking of consistency I want to share a video on consistency:

In this video, Jay Clouse dives into how the advice "just be consistent" could be dangerous at face value. In fact simply making content every week might be a recipe for disaster. Not everyone has a team of creators like Alex Hormozi.

What you can do is set a schedule that fits your current desire and abilities. This will set you up for healthy consistency vs. blindly posting something every week and burning out. You set the schedule of when and how often you post. Consistency doesn't need to lead to burn out.

I love when Jay talks about applying "The Regret Test" to making content. Ask yourself, "Would I enjoy it if someone else made it?". If it's a no, you should probably put more time into it. If I'm brutally honest, I don't know if I would want to watch all of my podcast episodes. On the other hand, I spend the time needed to craft my YouTube videos so I'm EXCITED to release them into the world.

I think that's why Mr. Beast does so well. It's because he puts in time, effort, and money to make his videos top notch.

I still believe that consistency and repetition leads to quality. I may make the podcast bi-weekly or monthly to allow me to keep creating YouTube content.

What about you? What content are you consistent making every week? Does it pass "The Regret Test"?

Hello Reader! Today I finally made it back to the CrossFit gym. The last time I went was back in March. I love going to the local CrossFit gym. The people there are amazing and after the workout (though it kills sometimes) I feel amazing 97% of the time. What probably triggered this fresh start was partially due to looking at one of my favorite books, Atomic Habits by James Clear. It made me internalize again the principles of starting a good habit or breaking a bad one. It's not rocket...
